Without a Hitch

Co-written with my dear friend Asher Fogle Paul, Without A Hitch is set against the glamorous, ruthless world of high-end Southern weddings and inspired by real events in our careers as a wedding planner and celebrity journalist. It’s a coming-of-age story about taking ownership, facing fears, planning your ex-boyfriend’s wedding, and choosing a happy ending that wasn’t what you expected.

  • When floundering and unlucky-in-love twenty something Lottie Jones lands a new career as a wedding planner at a top-tier boutique event firm, she begins navigating a cutthroat workplace specializing in over-the-top details, unlimited budgets, and a broad spectrum of taste. Whether planning for parachute landings or wrangling intoxicated groomsmen, she has her hands full at every million-dollar wedding she helps organize. After her boss announces he’s opening a new office, Lottie sees her chance to finally care out her place- and earn an income that justifies her dating app subscription fees. The weddings get bigger, the clients get wilder, the mishaps get funnier, and the stakes get higher. And Lottie’s forced to discover what she’ll risk for love and how far she’ll go to find herself.

Piece of Cake

As a sequel to Without A Hitch, Piece of Cake again incorporates many of our own personal experiences in magazine journalism and, of course, in wedding planning. Set against Nashville’s booming Bachelorette industry and some of the South’s most lavish weddings, POC includes as many wedding bloopers and shenanigans as WAH.

  • Claire Sommers grew up as a society girl destined to have it all: tasteful Dallas mansion, high-powered career, hot and rich husband. Until a massive mistake left her reputation in tatters and trust fund frozen. Now the former debutante is scraping by as a magazine staffer in Nashville—trading in her diamonds and designer stilettos for rhinestones and cowgirl boots. But soon Claire realizes that she must come to terms with what happened in her past if she’s ever going to embrace the present.
